Should Grade 12 University Level English Be a Requirement for Entry into All University Programs?

Originally I was very ambivalent towards this subject,because I could understand both sides of the argument on whether university-level should be mandatory for every program and how it shouldn't. However, I lean towards the side of having university-level mandatory,because I think that it provides students with an experience that will help them transition into their post-secondary education. 

 I can understand the argument to not have university-level  English mandatory, especially as a student. I understand that we want to maximize our time to focus on the subjects that we're passionate about,and are planning to take into our post-secondary education. My position on the subject was originally going to be against having university-level  English mandatory. Upon speaking to my peers about this,as well as some more reflection,I realized that university-level  English does not only provide information on English, but it also provides a level of experience that future students need if they want to succeed in their post-secondary endeavour.

In my opinion, Experience will be the most necessary tool for success in university, “Pure logical thinking cannot yield us any knowledge of the empirical world; all knowledge of reality starts from experience and ends in it.” - Albert Einstein. University-level  English provides knowledge and practice on writing English, but above all, it provides students with a level of experience. Students who take university-level English will be required to manage their time effectively,  to balance English and other subjects that they are most passionate about.They will also develop a strong work ethic,by being able to complete university-level  English as well as their other university-level subjects.  These are all things that will be expected of students in a university, even if they are not doing anything English related in their post-secondary education. In conclusion, I believe that university-level  English should be mandatory,since it provides students with an experience that will help them with their transition into post-secondary education.
